Cast what Kodi plays on your Android phone or TV box to any screen with the free LocalCast add-on. Or go the other way: cast from LocalCast to Kodi on any platform over DLNA, no add-on needed.
Install the free add-on in Kodi on your Android device. Turn on automatic casting and every video Kodi plays opens in LocalCast, which casts it to your Chromecast, Smart TV, Roku, Fire TV or AirPlay device.
Turn on "Allow remote control via UPnP" in Kodi's services settings and Kodi appears in LocalCast's device list as a DLNA receiver — on Windows, Linux, Raspberry Pi, Android TV, wherever Kodi runs.
Use the context menu entry "Cast with LocalCast" for a single file, or switch on automatic casting for all of them. Switch it off again any time from the add-on's menu.
LocalCast transcodes on the phone whatever the TV cannot decode, so MKV, HEVC, DTS or FLAC from Kodi play on every receiver.
Download script.localcast.zip from this page, then in Kodi open Settings → Add-ons → Install from zip. Kodi may ask you to allow unknown sources first.
Open the LocalCast add-on in Kodi's Add-ons and choose "Enable automatic casting", then restart Kodi. Prefer a single item? Use "Cast with LocalCast" in its context menu instead.
Every video Kodi plays now opens in LocalCast; pick your TV once and it casts. The LocalCast app from Google Play must be installed on the same device.

Install the free LocalCast add-on in Kodi on Android (download on this page, Settings → Add-ons → Install from zip). Then turn on automatic casting in the add-on so every video opens in LocalCast, or choose "Cast with LocalCast" in the context menu of one item. Restart Kodi after turning automatic casting on or off.
Yes, on any platform Kodi runs on and from Android or iOS. In Kodi turn on Settings → Services → UPnP/DLNA → "Allow remote control via UPnP". Kodi then appears in LocalCast's device list as a DLNA receiver; no add-on is needed for this direction.
Not yet. Install it from the zip on this page; Kodi asks once to allow unknown sources. A submission to Kodi's official repository is planned. The add-on supports Kodi 20 (Nexus), 21 (Omega) and 22 (Piers) on Android.
Open the LocalCast add-on in Kodi and choose "Disable automatic casting", then restart Kodi. If you set it up by hand, delete playercorefactory.xml in Kodi's profile folder with Kodi's file manager.
Download the free Kodi add-on and the LocalCast app, and cast from Kodi to any TV in minutes.
